early summer

Summer seemed to have arrived early in Traverse City this year.  Mid-March sunny and 80s!  We've enjoyed lots of playing outside, parks, and the beach so far.  Of course, these record breaking temperatures are so abnormal that we've (particularly Tony) been concerned with global warming and what this means for our planet.  I love sunny and 80, so its hard to be bothered.  But certainly, this is not normal for northern Michigan.

snowy 3rd birthday

We woke up on Evan's 3rd birthday to lots of
beautiful snow!  About 10-12 inches at our house.  But parts of Traverse City had up to 20!  So, things were a mess that morning.  We planned on bringing Evan to his movie at a movie theater.  First we all spent 45 minutes shoveling the driveway.

But, they closed the State Theater.  So, Evan decided we should just have some ice cream, but we couldn't find a place open for ice cream.  We ended up at Patisserie Amie and let him choose a pastry.  The vanilla bean eclair looked so tasty!

Then we got to watch the gigantic snow machines and dump trucks haul away all the snow!

In the evening, we all gathered in the tent with some special rainbow popcorn and kettle corn to watch Cars2.

Evan preferred not to have a party, but did have fun having Ava and Griffin over on Sunday for dinner, ice cream cupcakes, and lots of playing and chasing!
