april snow!

Not what I want to see on April 20th!  6 inches of snow!  Even if its not 60 and sunny, we still have to get outside.  So, here we are enjoying what we hope is the last of the snow for a while!

And in celebration of Easter this week... we made a snow bunny! 

funny things

Evan is constantly making us chuckle at the funny things he says or does.  Sometimes its cute to just watch him as he learns to combine words.  Many times a day, he does or says something that I want to remember.  So, hopefully by writing them down, the memories stay with me.  Here are few recent things...

- Evan has Froggie fix the holes in dad's socks and fill up his trucks with gas
- he still doesn't really like number 2 diaper changes (or he just thinks its a good time to play one of his favorite games... chase you), sometimes when we ask him if we can change his diaper he says "no, my poo poo"... today when I went to get him from his nap he said "poo poo on bottom" 
- its cute when he gets a little injury, like today when he tripped and bumped his knee on a stone... it was not hard enough for cries but he says "kiss it", so I get to kiss it, then he says "all better"

friends

After Evan's bedtime, Tony and I always like to take some time to talk about our day.  Tonight, we both had a similar story... while laying down and reading with Evan he called each of us his "friend".  We were both so happy to hear that Evan considers us his friends.  By the way, the poor little guy had to call in sick for school today for the first time.  Runny nose, no energy, little fever...  Bad timing too, as I started new classes this week and have a lot of work to do.  The beginning of the terms always stress me out because I keep thinking about the work that is still out there to do... lots of readings, exams, assignments, and nothing crossed out the list yet.  At least the classes are interesting and I enjoy what I'm learning. 

A side note... Tony and I went to see Mitch Albom last night.  So entertaining and insightful.  He had funny stories, but also made us think about human life and our purpose.

Evan can read!  Well... we have read some of his books so many times that he memorized them (Brown Bear and a couple of his Curious George books).  I love turning the page, waiting for him to think for a few seconds, then listening to his cute little voice "read" it to me.  This is especially fun when we are reading books in "mom's bed".  Whenever Evan is nakey he immediately thinks of laying under the covers in my bed.  So a couple of times a day we cuddle under the blankets and read books.
