blowing kisses
I gave Evan the usual hug and kiss before I went to work this morning. When I talked to him on the phone later in the day, he told me how he had wanted to give me a kiss from the window too (sometimes he blows kisses to people as they drive out of our driveway). But I didn't know he wanted to that this morning. Tony was in another room and thought he had fallen and hurt himself by the way he was crying. And finally got it out from him that all he wanted was to blow me a kiss. Aww... love that kid!

its a jammie day!
Ahh, almost 4:00 pm and Evan and I are still in our jammies. Something both of us are enjoying. Even though most days I like (NEED) to get out of the house with him, some days its nice to take it easy. Our busy schedule over that past few weeks with my clinicals and Evan's 3-day school week now has left us both enjoying those relaxing moments together. And actually, I realized this morning that today would be my last 'me and Evan' day before he turns 3. My last time to spend a whole day alone with this sweet little 2-year old. Evan did not want to get out of his Mickey jammies this morning, and did not want to go anywhere after I suggested all the options for the day. So, he gets his wish this time... a day with just mom's attention and being comfy surrounded by all his favorite things.

shopping
During a recent shopping trip, Evan pushed his own little cart around the store and was excited to pick out some fruit and yogurt and put them in his cart. When walking by shelf of cereal he picked on up and said "mom, we need some cereal." I looked at the box... and of course he saw one of the most unhealthy cereals there is, one I had never even heard of. It was chocolate cereal with chocolate filling, called Krave. Hmmm... where did this come from? I told him that this was not a healthy cereal so we were not going to buy it. We eat a lot of cereal so try to buy the best tasting healthy cereals (lots of Kashi). He put back the Krave and kept moving. Such a good boy! A few days later, Tony and Evan were out shopping, and he saw the same box. He said to Tony, "this is not a healthy cereal." Such a smart boy!

love of running
Will Evan develop a love of running like his dad? He definitely sees how running is a way of life for Tony, and has come to realize that almost every morning Tony goes out for a run or goes down to the treadmill. He enjoys a quick run on the treadmill. We've started him off early. And Tony is hoping that Evan's preferred sport will soon be cross-country.
