This weekend we had visitors... Aunt Katy, Grandma, and Great-Grandma (GG).  What a fun time!   We mostly just visited and enjoyed each other's company.  Evan particularly liked having some of his favorite people over.  And Grandma brought his train table... which he is loving.  Here are some pictures from our visit to Patisserie Amie. 

    By the way, Evan spent the day on the town wearing his Superman Jammies from Aunt Katy. 

making the best of it

We were all ready for spring!  Snow was melted, a couple 50 degree days, Evan loving riding his bike and pushing his mower.  Then 12 inches of snow hit....  ugh....  So what to do, try to enjoy by little cross country ski. 

I was fortunate to get out skiing 6-7 times with friends this winter.  Linda was the only one willing to go this week.  And if it wasn't for her motivation, I would have stayed inside and been bummed about the spring snow.

Someone is happy (well 3 people are happy) that spring has arrived!  The 40-50 degree weather this week brought lots of bike riding, playing in the snow and muddles, and enjoying the warmth of the sun.  And of course, once the snow melted our grass needed a good mow...

Also, when we went under that big pine tree.  Evan said "cozy... find us", which means that its a cozy spot for hiding and maybe someone should come looking for us.  Evan loves hiding games.

"adventure"

Last night we went on an adventure!  We probably use the adventure too freely around our house, to try and make some things sound really fun!  "Evan... we are going on an adventure today... to the grocery store!"  But, Tony and I really do love adventures and now love to share adventures with Evan. 

We made a last minute decision to go out to Crystal Mountain.  Being that it is the middle of March and we had not been snowboarding at all this winter, both Tony and I were feeling the urge.  So, we picked Evan up from school and drove to the hill.  I snowboarded for an hour, while Tony and Evan looked at a digger, and rode the magic carpet to the top on the bunny hill and slid down on Tony's snowboard.  Then, we switched.  Tony went out for an hour, and Evan and I had a snack then played "chase you".  We had such a fun time!  While getting into the car, Evan said "adventure" for the first time!

Tony and I were talking during our coffee time at Morsels this morning about documenting Evan's life on video.  We make an attempt to capture his stages of development and the cute things he does.  But, he really likes to just watch the videos on the screen.  So, turns out most of the time we take the camera out he stops what he is doing and wants to play with it.  We realize how he is constantly changing and we don't want to forget what he was like as a 2 year old.  And plus, hopefully when he is older it will be fun for him to see what himself as a 2 year old.  Since this blog was not started in Evan's earlier days, I feel the need to throw in occasional glimpses of the past.  Tony mentioned this particular video this morning, and how this is very true to how Evan acted when he was 15 months old... completely different than he is today.  But of course, he couldn't get him to do the "so big" arms...

Gosh, I love re-living these moments.  Yay for videos!  Time to make some more...  

sweet little baby

There is still something so precious about watching your baby while he is asleep.  Actually, maybe its cuter now, because he is such a big boy going going going talking talking talking...  then he is out.  In the busyness of day to day life, it is a rare moment when I just look at him and reflect on how much I truly cherish our life together.  And although he is growing up WAY too fast, I am amazed at the little person he is becoming.

Apparently, Evan has a preference for the shirts his mom and dad wear.  This morning, Tony had on a green t-shirt and tried to put a zip-up shirt over it.  Evan pointed and said "off".  Tony gave it to him and he went back and put it in the bedroom.  Evan prefers mom wears purple shirts.  And has done the same thing to me.  Wants to take off any shirt that covers a purple one.  He has even went to the closet and picked out a purple shirt for me to put on when I got out of the shower.  Funny kid!

day late birthday blog

Happy 2nd Birthday Evan!  I didn't have time to post yesterday.  We were too busy celebrating. 

Here is Evan thinking about this whole concept of his birthday... hmmm... birthday boy (like the shirt from Grandma Bray says), what does that mean? 

Though, even if he didn't really know what was happening... how cool to have a fire truck cake! Mom and dad are quite the cake-decorating team.
